Just dug out my trusty Nokia 6310 phone for my holiday in Majorca it was originally a free work mobile but when we changed network old phones were scraped - and it's unlocked so any SIM will work as long as it's the old size.
No fear of running up data charges due to various apps.
I don't even need to take a charger with me as the battery lasts 7-10 days on one charge!
No camera but WTF.

I've just come back from Austria and I'm with o2. I got a text first day I was out there to say that I could use my phone as normal as if I was back home

All operators have to do it now, forced by the EU. same mins, texts and data as you get at home in most EU countries.

it's funny as mobile operators are advertising it like they chose to do it. :lol

Who knows what will happen in a few years though :banghead

Its the Data use that worries me no problem with the 6310!

My brother went to Canada earlier this year and although he only switched his phone on a few times to text me he was charged about £40 for what turned out to be use of data!

He has not put e-mail on his phone and does not use it for internet searching except on free Hotel Wi-fi. He moaned to Virgin Media about the charges but as he had previously capped the charge at £40 they were not interested. He assumes that background apps were using up his data allowance it was pay as you go with some sort of auto top up methinks.
