As I drive around, I'm sometimes looking at other vehicles and wonder what I will replace the Terrano with (no time soon) when the time comes, I like the Volvo XC90 and the VW Touareg and Toerag :augie models, but what I don't like is the road tax on these vehicles, I was just have a muse and noticed the tax for a 2.5 Touareg from Nov 06, for 1 year is £490
I sometimes drive a 33 tonne 8 wheel water tanker at work and the Road tax is £700 a year, this vehicle can do so much more damage to the road than a 4x4 and when fully laden, does around 6 to 12 MPG around town and which could be doing approx. 100.000 miles a year if used as some trucks are.
I do less than 6000 miles a year in my Terry, We are being taken for a ride
I think I will be holding on to my pre 2006 4x4 for as long as possible.
Yep gets to me also, we are changing my other halves Picasso, I will be changing for a Grand Cherokee 3.0 v6, date is key so we will be going for the cheaper tax for sure
