Nice motor Plank, good to see that you've seen sense at last:thumbs

Check that it's got Auto hubs and not fixed before you go buying any manuals:eek:

Jim

no they are definately fixed, but i might get some just to keep in the boot for show LOL

I've just been looking at photos of my old one in the club gallery

well i'm concerned if they will allow room for the fusion master time travel unit in the boot :nenau

but seriously, i have owned a couple of swb t2 cars rather than commercials and they all seem the same to me, i've only ever seen lwb or swb nothing in between, so maybe he is just mixed up.

talking out of his arse Plank.

The running gear and basic shell has been the same throughout the T2 variant Nissan/Mavericks life....the 2000 facelift affected bits of running gear (like the hubs) and a few body panels...mainly front wings/bumper/grille...doors and bodyshell were basically untouched to keep costs down.

Even the front doors fit both LWB and SWB from MkII to MkIV

But suggest you buy the bits on a trial basis only....odd silly little changes still surface from time to time......

i think he is comparng by 'eye' and the commercial he has has been badly clattered at the front and probably looks a lot shorter.

my plan is/was, to go over while the bits are still in the car and compare. But knowing me i wont get round to it until after it's all been sold:(

At the risk of sounding a bit thick, why buy a commercial and turn it into a car? surely easier and not far off same price to buy a SWB Car and not have extra insurance and tax brackets?

Jim

The van should be a lot less than the car....havent asked what Plank paid but ought to be in the low to mid 3's against 4+ for the car....

well, i paid a lot less than a car and a lot less than your guesses I wont say here in case i try and sell it :thumbs but i will tell you by pm

then secondly on a comercial road tax is cheaper, and i have commercial insurance that wont cover cars so i woud have had to insure a car seperately and individualy.

to be honest it will allways be a van, If i put seat in i will leave them folded 99% of the time it will only be for an occasional extra passanger e.g. if i drop the kids off some where or have to pick them up o the way home form somewhere. we do have 2 ford ranger crew cabs so for carrying people i will usually use one of them.

having said all that, I am now looking for a swb 3l with all leather etc as i do fancy one and i'm trying to get the wife interested in T2's

Top Buy that man! :thumb2

Do you remember Plank way back yonder, I seem to recall that if you put side windows into a commercial you had to pay tax of some sort on it - can't remember exactly what it was, but it was still a popular thing to do....you don't really see it these days though - funny that?:nenau

yes i remember people buying fiesta diesel vans at auction and turning them into cars, i cant remember what the benefit was though.

I wont be fitting windows though, and if i can tlk her indoors in to a t2 i wont be fiiting seats either.

which incidentaly we are going to view later and she seems keen, a 55 plate se 3l lwb with 7 seats!

go to photobucket, setup an account, upload photos, and with each photo you get various methods for posting on sites, emails etc, so very easy!

that's easy for you to say

Plank its easy to post one pic at a time - just do Post Reply as usual, type in your words, then click the little paper clip icon in the toolbar immediately above where you are typing (top line between the smiley face and the two arrows).

That will then throw nup a requester box and let you Browse your hard drive for the photo you want to post....once you find it, click it until its showing in the requester box (as a file name), then click on Upload and Bobs yer uncle.

Submit Reply as usual. (or Preview if you want to see the results of your handiwork first).

The only issue might be that the site tools don't let you upload really big photos, so if it says yours is too big, just use a photo tool to Resize it so that in pixels, no dimension is more than 1000 in width or height.

Just have a go mate - you'll be pleasantly surprised. And we are waiting to see this new truck! :thumbs
