That's the Last big bit finally tacked up!
Rear inner arch was always going to be awkward and I've got to somehow make a U shaped piece up to replace the arch lip for the plastic arch to bolt to and that I can weld to the body and the sheets I've tacked in.

I've cut the lip off my arch and I'm welding the new inner arch to the edge of the rear panel.Just going to weld some brackets on for the plastic arch trim to bolt onto.
Gets rid of the return so less places for mud to collect and start the rotting process all over again.

I did consider that option, will see how my idea pans out first :lol

Not as straightforward a shape as I had hoped for though but heat and hammer should sort that out.

I know what you mean, I'd hoped the sheet would follow the body line so I could do it in one sheet but no such luck. Even in 2 sheets it's not great so I'll see what tomorrow brings.

Newest custom addition, added breather tube for the diff breather extension.

Too good to hide under the rear wing.excellent bit of fabrication :thumb2

We did look at different ways of doing it but with the cap not being lockable and the fact you can't weld alloy to steel this was the only way round it.

I could drive round with the petrol flap open :lol

Happy days!
Back on its wheels and all that's left to do is the cills and put the interior back in :thumb2

Coming together great mate, that filler is a thing of utter beauty, great idea putting breathers there too, it's inspired me :thumbs

:thumb2 brilliant work mate :thumb2
Not done anything on mine this weekend. On the upside I now have my new floor pan cut and folded at work.Just need to trial fit it to make sure all the holes for the rear seat anchor points are in the right place before I weld in the strengthening plates.

Get cracking :thumb2

Still the cills to do to finish it off then I can throw the interior back in. I have noticed a couple of body mounts that'll need attention but they can wait for the warmer weather. Had enough of crawling on the floor in this cold.

Ha ha ha, would love to but just don't seem to have any spare time Atm. Will get back on it this Sunday.
