The most recent Cabin belongs to a Doctor from Fairbanks, hell of a nice guy a he showed us around this architect designed 2 storey ultra equipped and all mod cons cabin.

There is no electricity but he has Solar panels all over his roof with rotating panels in the back yard that follow the sun,( daylight for only 3 months of the year ) the cabin has 2storeys and a basement,quadruple glazing and plenty of insulation,the bathroom and shower room are high quality

This view is of the dog yard,he uses the dogs for mushing and enters in dog races inc the famous Iditarod race which is over 1000 miles long,it started back

In the winter of 1925, a deadly outbreak of diphtheria struck fear in the hearts of Nome residents. Winter ice had closed the port city from the outside world without enough serum to inoculate its residents. Serum from Anchorage was rushed by train to Nenana and picked up by a sled dog relay. Twenty of Alaska's best mushers and their teams carried the serum 674 miles (1,085 km) from Nenana to Nome in just over 127 hours.[1]

This was to be one of the final great feats by sled dogs. Within a decade, air transport replaced the sled dog team as the preferred way to ship mail. With downturns in gold mining, most of the roadhouses closed, boom towns emptied, and the Iditarod Trail fell into disuse.
teams from all over compete in the race,there were over 60 teams this year.

Time for a BBQ, I was head cook, I'm doing Moose Steaks on the bbq which was made of an old piece of oil pipeline 4' dia, it makes a good fire,with all the brush we had cut from Bob's cabin.

This is the Wiseman Roadhouse used for gatherings including dances ,the miners would dress up in their sunday best and dance with mainly Eskimo Indian girls and women as there were very few white women In the camp.
