Much debated stereo conversion!

I am just about to change my 04 double din stereo for an after market unit and have the fascia plate adaptor and hazard switch but need the switch harness extension.

Does anyone know whether this harness is available from a source other than a Nissan dealer? my local dealer is struggling to identify whats needed (awkward or stupid?)

Any help appreciated.

where did you get the adapter from? I have been trying to get one cheap for ages - dealers quoted nearly £100 for switch and fascia

Have you removed the old stereo yet to have a look at the wire's?
When I replaced my double-din for a standard one I didnt need any switch harness extension????? :nenau
Just unpluged the hazzard wire out of the old radio, and into the new blanking plate/switch?

I got a 'blanking plate' from the main dealers in Leeds, it was a few years ago, but sure it was only around £30ish including the hazzard switch! Then just carefully cut round the hole with a stanley knife to remove the plastic blanking 'thingy' they put over the slot! :thumbs

I bought the fascia adaptor from a Nissan dealer, part number 68470-0X800 at todays price of £35-34 + vat. This includes the fascia adaptor and blanking plate but not switches.

The dealer was quoting £69 + vat? for a hazard switch. I bought one from Ebay part No. 25290-0F000 for a fiver which fits the fascia adaptor but has more clearance around the apperture than I would like.

Big Black thanks for the comment on the harness, this perhaps explains why the dealer couldn't find a part number. I will check when I change the unit over next week.

Good and bad news!

Big black you were right the existing harness is long enough but I have the wrong switch as the harness plug does not fit the switch.

Does anybody have a part number for the switch used in the fascia blanking plate?
