Just over 120k but clutch seems fine apart from I can feel vibrations in the pedal and the extra noise it makes when clutch depressed.

most of these seem to need a new clutch around 80 to 90 k. I remember when the clutch went on one of mine; I first noticed it towing a caravan back from Solarman's place. I had to keep the speed down to around 55 or the revs picked up faster than the speed. The symptoms seem similar to yours, though at a higher speed as you're not towing :nenau

My 17 year old 2.7 td is still capable or speeds greater than 93, shown on the GPS on a private road of course. On longer flatter sections it has been known to get to the ton+
It was a bit sluggish the week before due to short journeys, so some injector cleaner, red line it in all gears and blow out the cobwebs, now the engine is quieter and runs more smoothly.
I still haven't removed the mini filter from new either.

So yours probably needs a good thrash, red lining it in the lower gears works for mine anyway.

The Tdi should get to the ton+ when running well

BUT you will need a diesel tanker along side to refuel though, at these speeds.:doh:doh

Only had the Terrano for about 6 weeks and got it fully serviced with someoe I know well so I know they never just wiped the filters and never did it etc :) Also he put a lot of injection cleaner but will try thrash it tomorrow on the way home from work...

When I can afford it going to probably get a new clutch fitted anyhows, will have a look through all the old reciepts that came with it to see if one was already done.

Very simple test for slipping clutch, handbrake on hard, select 5th gear, throttle to the floor, slide foot of clutch peddle, engine should stall within 2 to 3 seconds, if it takes much longer or does not stall then the clutch is weak and will need replacing soon, Rick

I did this, mine still stalled, but the clutch was down to the rivets and slipping under load - i.e. towing a caravan into a headwind :thumb2

It is still a valid test just not a guarantee of a good clutch:thumb2

From fleabay or from somewhere else? :)

From nissan.

I did the non genuine route and it packed in after a month ... but it took me 3 months and loads of trying stuff before i suspected the the new maf was shite

Tried to clean my MAF today and the truck would not go over 40 mph lol...

Went to my mates garage and he was quoted about £140, looked on ebay and the best price for a bosh one was around the £110 mark.

On the off chance drove to the local nissan garage as its close by.... Got one on stock... £70 + change, fitted this and OMG!!!

Actually drives like it should do, not driven like this since I had it, accelerates like a mofo compared to before.

Took it back to my mates garage to look at blanking off the EGR valve, had a good look round but don't think I have one lol.

Cheers for the advice and help :thumb2
