i travel around 800mile month in my terrano 2 usually 400 to 500 of thats on motorways , ive been driving now 30yrs my speed tends to be around 70 which at times i feel im doing 30 with the amount of merc vans , transits & reps screaming past ,one perticular section on my way home on the m1 approaching the m18 turn off they often go tearing past on the inside lane while i cringe same time the idiots leaving the junction on the m1 the last minute decide to cut you up with no indication ! ...it happened to me when an mx5 almost took my drivers wing off doing around 80 ,90 almost missed his exit last second swerved past me over the white hatch markings no indication nothing .. i wished at times id caught his back end as i would have spun him a 360 big style ..... thinking of travelling like the old days a barge!:lol

Sure you're not in that middle lane too long :augie Undertaking is often a sign of middle lane hogging in my experience. Not excusing it mind you, and no indicators is down right bloody dangerous and selfish/lazy careless driving:eek:
Sat nav also helps with speed camera locations and so could it be a cold bit of m/way:eek: :naughty
There's a few bits round south wales with no cameras and that is a joy :D

if you travel so much, i'd get a on board camera. record stuff like this, and report the nobheads.

Chill out Gaz, keep your speed down to 55/60 and stay in the inside lane. You can still cringe at all the stupid driving going on, without being endangered by it. (Also gives you time to text, browse the internet, check your emails, make a cuppa, read a book........)
You'll get bloody good MPG, you'll arrive at your destination only slightly later, and you'll be relaxed when you get there.

never hog the middle lane thats one of my hates , i travel on the inside lane on motorways but often get undertaken by stupid drivers on the bloody slip road

Hard shoulder under taking  bastards. Hope they get a nail in their tyre

Sign of the times in my experience, too many just do not give a S*** any more, I used to love driving, almost any excuse to go some place, but now it is no pleasure on the roads cept when its been snowing and there are not many others about, I packed up international trucking when I was constantly being undertaken by idiot car drivers who would run out of slip road and continue on the hard shoulder then get angry as though I should not be there, they just could not understand that my 32 tons could not slow up or accelerate like their little car, amongst other forms of inconsiderate driving, Rick

I know how Rick feels, when I used to tow the boat to the Broads using the A14, we used to get cars cutting us up before the roundabout on the dual carriage way, if it was a decline to the roundabout, I am braking enough to be sure I will stop at the white line, with over 2 tonne behind you and over-run brakes, HaHa...

I say to the wife, it looks like we now have our crumple zone in front of us.
I cannot hit the brakes hard as the trailer will probably jack knife....:augie

I also now drive with a Camera in the car, that is automatic and records from start up, the things you see........

Police Camera Action......I could do a complete series.
Lane hogging, undertaking, third lane to slip road in a hundred yards, OR LESS and no indication.....

Now I have the camera, I chill, and I always think to myself....

I HAVE LEFT ENOUGH TIME FOR MY JOURNEY :thumb2

most of this crazy driving happens to be just after 6am after my night shift , im told its the shift change over with police which figures why its a wild free for all

Nah, people drive like that all the time, everywhere.
Take the IAM course and then you'll see how badly people really drive (including yourself). It'll open your eyes:eek:

I agree with everything said. Idiots on thr roads everywhere drivng all sorts of vehicles and it mostly seems to be middle aged white men! You notice it more when towing as everyone assumes you are so slow you desereve no respect, often move live animals (horses, sheep, goats, etc.) that realy reminds you of the damage harsh braking can do! my top three moans - 1, undertaking on sliproads 2, truckers who indicate two flashes at the last possible moment and then pullout in front of you forcing you to swerve onto the outside lane which is illegal when towing. 3, On country roads idiots who dangerously overtake and then slow down to turn left, or even stop in the road in front to turn right, 200 yards down the road. There are lots more!
