Terrano has its mot at 12.45pm today. I've been over the terrano as best I could and any bulbs etc.... changed. Nothing is leaking. I couldn't see anything that needed welding.

Ordered a saab valve for the mg and logbook as I've lost the original during the move.

Thank you, halfway through the mot chap is failing the terrano, rear suspension mounting area is full of holes and brake pipes are borderline fail...... so far

The results are in....

Nearside Rear Vehicle structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced Spring mount (6.1.1 (c) (i))
Nearside Rear Vehicle structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced At Cross member weld joint (6.1.1 (c) (i))
Offside Rear Vehicle structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced Spring mount (6.1.1 (c) (i))
Offside Rear Brake pipe excessively corroded along chassis over axle x2 (1.1.11 (c))
Nearside Front Steering linkage ball joint has excessive play Steering idler (2.1.3 (b) (i))
Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm ball joint excessively worn (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Nearside Front Suspension arm attachment bracket/mounting damaged and seriously weakened Where lower arm rear fixing attaches (5.3.3 (b) (i))
Offside Front Suspension arm attachment bracket/mounting damaged and seriously weakened At lower arm rear attachment point (5.3.3 (b) (i))
Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Offside Rear Fuel Pipe/s corroded ()
Rear Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint has slight play Both rear (5.3.4 (a) (i))
What are defects and advisories?

:( :( :(

Some money or work to be done there then mate :(

Is he hoping to do the work or is he literally a test station?

Its just an mot station.

I've not looked into quotes for the work, but I know it won't be cheap.

Deciding on whether to sell or not.

I could make a dedicated off road machine from that, if it is cheap, Rick

Photos off terrano just after I purchased it. I've not been able to get any recent ones, during daylight.

I'd wondered that. Previous owner has always had his car mot'd and repaired at the same place.

I spoke to my usual mot guy in Bexhill and his words "thats horrific" lol

More than horrific that is terminal, and should not have passed last year or probably even the year before that, Rick

he is near you rick, could you do the work for him.

No he is in Kent, but also that tubular X member is the same repair that I did on a T2 a few years ago and it needs a donor chassis for the part, Rick
