Mot on metro

Hi guys,
Help required, my daughters metro's up for its mot but needs a suspension 'pump up ' anyone outhere got a hydrolastic pump to sell !!!
Might as well buy a pump as pay garage for the job .

You may get one off ebay & TBH not sure where you could get the fluid from these days :? HB may have an idea

The fluid used to be `anti-freeze` or at least some sort of glycol mix.

I'm afraid to say there has been many Metro's through the family.

now you dont see many metros these days, even in rover 100 guise.

be tempted to give it old 6R4 body kit, group B super cars 8)

I've had two metros, both actually very good cars apart from a love of rotting to bits :roll:

I cant recall the last time I saw one :!:

Fluid is not antifreeze its an mineral fluid (special)

some small garages still have them and its a real easy job when you have the tool

If you find a tool then you will need the correct height measurement

make sure you measure from centre of hub to wheel arch as i caught a guy measuring from the ground (this is not accurate as worn tyres will give a different measurement)

To follow on from above there are 2 measurements depending on the year & system the metro has the MK1 & MK2's W-K reg had 3 valves 2 at the front 1 for each front wheel & 1 at the rear for the rear wheels. settings for the front are 13" & 13&1/2" for the rear. the later MK3's & Rover 100's it's 13" measurement taken from the front :smile:

Used to be a Rover mechanic :roll: the fluid is horrid when it runs down your arm & into your armpit as it freezes due to it being alchole based :roll:
