Well put her in for her yearly heath check to find my local MOT man failed it yet again on too little clearance on front bump stops... just like he did last year!

Told him that he was being a little pedantic and that I could knock em off with a chisel and he would have to pass it... he agreed.

Went home wound torsion bars up went back and he passed it no problem!
He said "Bet it drives better now and doesn't bounce all over the road..."

I said " Yeah your right only now I cant see over the bonnet and need to sit on a booster cushion just to see where I'm going!!

He wasn't impressed neither was I with him

No left em pointing up at the stars can see for miles now on dip just don't try drivin towards me at night without ya shades on!!

I'd of just knocked the bump stops off

( & use a different test station )

I have never liked the idea in the UK,that repair garages do MOT's,there is an obvious conflict of interests. I used to take mine to an old lad that had stopped doing repairs and just did MOT's. I remember one of my first cars was(don't lough)a Lada. when I took it to the garage one year for the mot, he faildit on a corroded head lamp, but said he could change it for a Mini head lamp as they were practically identical,OK,I said. The next year I took it back for the mot and he failed it because it had wrong headlamp fitted. when I reminded him he fitted it the previous MOT,he just gave me the ticket ?
Here the contol technique are all done at independant stations
