MOT Changes 2012

Some interesting changes as of 1st January. I note with interest the point on catalytic converters and hid headlight kits!

Not read the new mot bumff, but I have noticed a lot of custom exhaust manufacturers making systems with removable cat inserts :sly Makes it easier to refit your cat for it's annual exam :lol

The new mot means you have to be a little more cunning now :sly The bulb has to light up and go out with ignition, sooooooooooooo, now you have to piggy back it onto the oil light for example :augie

that may not work as you need to start the engine for the oil light to go out, on a diesel it may be better to piggy back it onto the glow plug light, on a petrol I can see no other way than fit a small timer relay into the circuit, Rick

It's just a bloody sensor Brakes work perfectly and passed the MOT test yesterday :thumbs

ABS is for girlie's don't need ABS any more than need syncromesh, likewise air bags and belts, drive with the knowledge that if you hit somat it will hurt, not, if I hit somat my supper safety system will protect me, Rick

I taught all my kids proper driving including cadence braking etc , so if they're lucky enought o one day own a car with abs, they'll know what to do when it all goes south

I agree to a point. I learnt to drive without all the frills and also drove coaches without synchro. I also know ABS can reduce stopping distances regardless of the super handling skills of the driver. Your ABS could protect ME.

just so you know these have not come in yet as vosa have made a **** up while sending the dvds to garages spoke to an mot tester the other day they may not start till they have had the new dvd ????????????????????
