Good plan - and if you slap the under seal on nice and thick no one will notice the rivets!

a tip - never use silicone sealer on metal as it is too acidic and eats metal, particularly lead and aluminum.

if you ever consider it get 'neutral cure' sealer, if it smells like vinegar as it goes off - avoid it!
