more help please with warm start issues

our 2.7 Terrano dosnt like starting any more was advised it could be glow plugs but they seem oks Will not start when warmed up now also buzzing noise from injector pump. any help please

Wont start when warmed up doesnt sound like heater plugs, could be a thing called the crankshaft position sensor. What year is yours? Is it intercooled?

its on an 02 plate. yes intercooled. thanks

The crankshaft position sensor on that year is at the back of the engine just above the bell housing. theres several threads regarding this.

My 1996 had similar issues when it went but check out some of the previous threads regarding these sensors.

Bit tricky to reach but cwn be done from top.


1/4 drive with LONG bar extntion.

Do not know about "years" but Bosch pump CPS is on bell housing but Zexel is on top of front timing case, and they are very different parts both size wise and electrically, Rick

just want to say thanks to everyone for trying to sort out my none starting terrano 2.7. there was one glow plug down, but there was a very tiny pin hole in fuel pipe on top of the fuel tank.there was no tell-tale size of diesel on the ground. new fuel pipe fitted and starts first time. thanks.. Glad you got it sorted, just goes to show how difficult it is to diagnose without hands on, Rick
