more help needed - wipers this time!!!

my drivers wiper stopped working today however the passenger one is fine!!
ive taken off the wipers and large plastic cover under the windscreen and discovered that the large wiper linkage arm below the plastic cover has disconnected itself from the centre section where the drivers and passenger wiper linkage arms meet.
ive attempted to put it back on but it just keeps falling off. what holds the wiper linkage on, has a spring or something came off? All i can find is the wiper linkage arm and a large rubber washer but what holds it on? Even hitting it with a plank of wood and a mallet didnt work!!!!! Theres no place for a bolt or anything.

Can't say for sure as I have not seen the T2 links. However other nissans have a plastic cup in the ends of the links with ball joints on the pivots. The plastic cups were replaceable on other models. They tended to pop off when it was cold weather when the wipers were frozen to the screens or covered in snow.

cant really see a groove but it is limited space. im going to try and fit a snap ring tomorrow to see if its possible

just a little plastic clip did my uncles the other week they tend to snap i brought a whole new likakage so i had all the parts

where did you get the new linkage, nissan dealer are struggling to source one for me? How much did you pay?

Ross, ask the dealer if the plastic caps for the ends come seperate.

the plastic caps dont come seperate, its all part and part of the arm linkage. the dealer showed me the diagram of the system.

There should be somethings that are the same between 1995 and 2001.

was getting quoted £40-£50 for the wiper linkage from the scrappies on parts gateway, contacted my local nissan dealer £10.49 brand new!!
part now fitted and problem solved.
