hi .
After spending a few hours walking around march lane car boot sale.
We went to monsal head for a run out in the afternoon ,
we stopped to let some landrovers pass and then drove down to the brdge "where andy feeds the trout."I threw in a bit of bread and 12 rainbow trout came and took it as fast as i could throw it in.
the biggest being about 3lbs.
we had a drink and I asked sheila if she would fancy a drive UP over bull tor lane (the reverse of the way we drive it on club days)To my SHOCK she said YES IF I CAN DRIVE) well we set of and i thought she wont like this BUT to my supprise she was grinning from ear to ear.
drove very steady but we climbed and climbed ,enjoying the fantastic views along the way and i got to open all the gates.
then onto long lane through the trees just about passable with the mirrors tucked in.
its now about 7.30pm its been a warm sunny afternoon .I set the satnav for home and of we went.
I realise that without camaraman none of the above would have happened . THANK YOU FOR SHOWING US THE WAY.
if you do drive this route or any other on your own

PLEASE BE EXTRA CAREFULL

bull tor lane

just wondered why we dont drive this lane uphill on club days out as ive done it a few times down hill and would like to try it up hill too :?:

MONSAL HEAD/BULL TOR

HI ELTON .
We always drove it downhill when cameraman was r.o.w.o. he used to lead the first group .
to be honest if you have`nt been off roading before it would be a little startling and could be difficult to organise a safe assent .stalled engine, someone coming down hill ect.
its well worth driving up hill ,as i have said Sheila drove it no problem ,but if she had stalled it ,i think she would have had a pannick attack.
HOW GOOD IS YOUR HANDBRAKE 8O
IF I lead and took that route i would have to make sure every driver could do a stalled hill start to get them of the steep part of the hillside.
HAVE YOU SEEN THE DROP OFF. 8O 8O 8O
LET ME HAVE A THINK ABOUT IT .
Perhaps drive the hole route in reverse.
Dont forget i intend to drive across the moores on the next lanes day so some more road work to get to it. but well worth it.
going to I.O.W on Saturday for the week hoping to drive the Tennison trail again .(do a search for last drive and photos).

i see your point with regards to the stalled hill start etc.i'm confident with my driving as i did regular lanes days in my sj,just had a few years break before i joined the nissan owners club.
