Can anybody describe to me the general procedure for replacing the side light on a mistral? Mines burnt out and I'm due an MOT very soon.

I've removed the plug from the back of the light but now I'm not sure how to get to the bulb itself.

I checked my online manual which helpfully gives guidance on replacing the main headlight but not the side light.

Does it pull out or screw? What should I do? Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
MM.

I've got the later twin head light model so am not sure if yours will be the same :? on mine if you feel below the main head light bulb you'll find the plug for the side light. I you twist this plug it becomes free & when you remove it you'll fine the bulb which is a 501 capless bulb

When looking down from the front you'll see a smaller connector on the outer side (closest to the fender) of the main head light assembly.

Unclip the wiring loom by squeezing the connector at the end and gently pool the connector free.

Twist the remaining part of the plug thats inserted into the assembly anti clock wise about 1/4 of a turn and the bulb should come out on a stem.

Thanks

Thanks for your responses. I will have another look.

Best Regards,
MM.

If you get stuck I can send a photo

Another Q

Thanks Roscco,

Are you saying that the front headlamp and sidelamp lens needs to come off the front of the car before you can access the side lamp bulb?

Cheers,
MM.

NO, what you need to do is look inside the engine bay where the headlights are and you'll see the main head light cover and pending on what side of the vehicle
e.g when looking in the engine bay from the front at the passenger side headlight, to the right you'll see a smaller plug sticking out, thats the one for the side light.

Thanks

Thanks Rossco, I'm with you now. I'll let you know how I get on.

I have already disconnected the wiring from the plug.

So I simply need to twist the remaining part of the plug thats inserted into the assembly anti clock wise by 1/4 of a turn to get the bulb out now.

Thanks again.

MM.

Yes thats correct on the passengers side anti clockwise about 1/4 turn and you'll feel it unlock.

It might be clockwise on the drivers side but you'll have to move the battery to get to it.

Fortunately the bulb is the passenger side so I won't need to wrestle with the battery!

If you've got small hands like me you can just get into it
