I have just changed the gearbox fluid on my 96 mistral the local motor factor said dexron II has been replaced by dexron III.
Method: Put the front of the car up on ramps, removed the gearbox drainplug 19mm, allowed oil to drain, sat in passenger side front seat for a few minutes, which allowed the rest of the oil to drain.
It took almost 4 litres to refill the gearbox.
The job took about an hour but was worthwhile because it changed my tractor into a car.
