went to the shops this morning in my car ... the front end seems very light and also feels strange under braking , i looked at the back and it appears normal , bounces once and settles ..... ideas ? ...... discuss ... this is your homework for the week .... dare i drive it ? .... is it safe ?

How's the tyres. Had a similar experience last week when roads were a bit wet. Think I'll be needing to change tyres soon.

tyres seem ok , plenty of tread , it wasnt as bad this afternoon , but still light at the front end , unless its me getting stronger ? :augie:lol

have you checked the pressures in the tyres lately? I noticed mine was all over the place when mine were a couple pf PSI to high :thumb2

when braking ,it sometimes " twitches " .... does that make sense ?

that sounds a bit high to me, i run 26 all round at 2 bar (14.7 PSI to the BAR) mine was all over the place :thumb2

I have run these with 235 75 15 and always used 26 all round :thumb2

Absolutely correctamundo.

Any more will progressively increase tyre wear, make the suspension bouncier and put less rubber in contact with the road.

Bigger tyres need even less pressure....:thumb2

and if you have no load in the back, why more pressure? the front is heavier! I find that even towing a heavy caravan 26 is enough. Bear in mind the nose wight on the ball is no more than 75 kilos and thats less than a chubby back seat passenger :thumb2

But 75 kg behind the rear wheel will put say 100kg on the back axle, reducing the weight of the front and 75 kg in front of the back axle will put some weight on the front axle thus the rear axle loading will not see the full 75 kg. :thumbs

 don't get started on the roof rack whatever you do :lol

ok i dropped the tyre pressures to 26 all round .... and i wish i hadnt  , its very " spongy " going around corners now , sorta wobbles a bit , although the front seems a bit heavier

going down there again armed with a pocket full of 20p pieces to mess about with pressures :naughty
