Mistral alarm ?

Just got me a 1998 Mistral ... but suprised there is no alarm / immobilser .. or if there is it dont seem to activate with the key - which is a standard basic plastic non chipped key .. wouldnt these top spec vehicles have keyfob operated remote central locking etc ? .. or have i got some after maket replacement keys !

amyway ... if there is no alarm on these as standard what would you recommend in the way of a decent alarm / immobiliser ?

if you do get a alarm which operates the central locking , you will also need a actuator fro the drivers door ..... i have a cobra alarm / immobiliser on mine , cost about £250 fitted

are you sire it's not a chipped key? if you take it to a key cutter they scan them and tell you of it has or not.

NATS 2 Not possible

NATS 1 maybe possible but better to get aftermarket kit, Rick

are you sure? I have seen some keys, our ford rangers being a good exampe as they have mazda keys, that have a small basic plastic head with no obvious signs of a chip, but they still have one.

I have a 1996 Mistral and that has an alarm sensor in the dashboard and an alarm has gone off once only.
However i have no chipped key or alarm key fob to activate or deactivate the system

My insurance said that I have a NATS 1 system but personally I do not know.
