sorry to hear that mate, but i hope you both get the holiday you clearly deserve, and stress free too so get those injectors checked-easy enough as im sure you know, only problem is the No1 Injector, thats quite expensive not sure if you know what, but when i swapped mine it made a whopping difference to the car, in fact, im going to do my other three injectors later this year.

not 100% sure what that knocking nose can be tho, could be something loose underneath perhaps and due to the misfire its rocking the car perhaps??

good luck!

do not take injectors to bits opps i did give them a good clean out and knock now gone and most ov misfire just snds bit missfire at 2000 rpm but am goin to leave alone till i get chance to have a go in some 1 elses maverick or let them have a go in mine to compare as i might be expecting something that not possible and could be how these cars are does seem little worse wen warm

nope, definatley not how these cars are BUT i dont think its a major issue, especially if its better after simply cleaning the injectors. When you go on holiday, chuck in a full bottle of injector cleaner-long distance is the perfect time to do it. Id say you need new injectors, as an example, with mine, if i sit and rev it, from 650-4k plus, its perfect. when i drive, again, rev it right through for the gears, and its perfect, this is AFTER fitting a new No1 injector, before that, like you, i got issues, so just one new injector made a massive difference to me, im looking forward to doing the other three.

i reckon youll be ok for your holidays tho, end of the day so long as its starting, and not stalling, itll run and run.

starts 1st flick of key idles spot will rev to 4000 plus just dont seem as smooth and quick as id expect

hmm...i know what you mean....i cant remember, did you do the MAF, fuel filter etc? any codes showing??

you're like me then...

i think next in line for checking is, as we have discussed, injectors, then fuel injection pump and i believe theres a pump in the fuel tank in the boot, (guys??), which means checking the fuel pipes too for rust/holes that may cause a vacuum and loss of power. also air filter..i bet youve done that. erm...egr?

what sort of power are you getting? what i mean is, can you floor it and get a good boost? in mine, if i floor it, it bloody shifts (cant see any smoke out the back as i do, but best test is at night with a car following). up hill its as good as these 4x4 gets, sometimes have to drop to 2nd, usually fine in third but it is slow (and i expect that)

its a strange 1 yes u can boot it just doent go like i think it shouldand has wot feels like a misfire or imblance wen driving .yes my next job is fuel lines as they dont look best but not leaking as i can see if all this fails another injector pump heard springs prone for collapsing in these pumps i wont be beat
