My terrano 2.7tdi 99 v has a misfire at 2000rpm, loss of power around 3000rpm and occasionally blue smoke out the back. I have changed the diesel filter by the n/s/f inner wing no good : i have disconnected the mass flow sensor not made much difference so i have ordered a mass sensor now from Nissan Hartwell Chester £130 inc vat, that seems to be a common fault with these vehicles, if this does not work i have a spare one when and if it does fail, anyone have any more suggestions?

Sounds like the MAF if there is little difference with it disconnected, defiantly a good place to start, mine is like a slug with it disconnected having a job to move itself along.

Girlfriends 2.7TDi recently suffered similar problem, went round armed with tools, testmeter and loads info from the forum - problem turned out to be 3 earth wires that had snapped due to viibration!! Fault code (early type not the 12 ? pin diagnostic connector on later models) showed it as a fault between throttle and pump. Wires (black with white line) come up from the pump and are secured under a bolt on top of engine block on the right hand side. (Needed to cut back the black pipe like cable sheathing to locatle the breaks.)I think it was caused by the weak cable clip having broken, allowing the cables to flex as the engine moved. IF it is the problem take care not to pull them up too hard - I did and pulled a cable off the starter motor !

fitted new maf still no better, going to get it checked out via dianostic check -banghead- this saturday but could be the turbo?

I has these symptoms when running dodgy biodiesel that had blocked the fuel filter. New filter, problem solved.
