got 5,000 out of it this time

Glad it is there stops all sorts getting into pump

a lot and myself put an inline filter befor the pump, after the main filter.

This seems to be a grey area, the so called mini filter is on the return of the pump, ie the line that goes back to the tank, it's purpose is to stop any debris blocking the very small restrictor orifice in the control valve that is AFTER the mini fiter, the control valve is a spring and shuttle that gives varying degree's of restriction depending on pressure and fuel flow, the idea is to stabilise the internal pump pressure, a blocked filter will raise the internal pressure too high giving problems, Rick

this has been said many times and am not disputing it but mine is deffo on feed in to ip,do not know if there is another on return feed as never looked.

Mine is the same,
Filter looks up towards the banjo bolt, so does the crap in it

This is a very odd scenario the main filter is much finer than the mini filter so on the input to the pump can serve no purpose, also the banjo has a restrictor in it, the last thing you need on the inlet, I can only surmise that previous owners have swapped the banjo's round in their ignorance, Rick

nice post that rick, but z and b are totaly different.as you say inlet on z at rear of pump b on top easier to get to on front of pump so maybe they work differently.
