my local garage just phoned me back on a price and they have looked it up on auto data and they said it takes 7.5 hours to do. does this sound right ? and they said £35 plus vat an hour

rick n swifty did mine in 5 hours with plenty of tea breaks n sarnies to boot and they took the engine out.
 
I would not be changing the clutch until you have proven the hydraulics are fault free first, your symptoms are to me at least hydraulic related, Rick
