Anorak ;)

To be serious it all depends what youre after doesnt it . She is on t mobile and the way theyre handing out deals to existing customers they'll be paying her soon to use them :D

HTC was the cheapest monthly by far :thumb2

Personally I love my nokia e71 which vodaphone were struggling to shift last year when the "recession hit" despite it getting excellent ratings I cant afford what I've got from them anywhere else :nenau

It doesnt have hd tele, make tea or give me a jodrell bank but its damned good at phone calls :D

Thats them lol :lol

One reason she went for a windows phone (i dont think the samsung is is it? really not sure) is because we've got loads of stuff that'll work on it from my pda. The sat nav on my nokia is shit so she wanted one that could run a "proper"sat nav system which we were told it will :thumb2

Samsung is S60 latest edition sumut:augie
My nokia was running Garmin so got the Garmin XT for the samsung too, does off road etc too and marine:D
Got the speed trap stuff loaded to with big fat warning sirens :lol
(er I mean "safe tea camera" ):augie

Ive go the s60 latest and I can get garmin (dont think its the newest) to run but it cant find the gprs receiver. Load of shite on nokia. Vodaphone sat nav is terrible :(

There you all go talking about your phones now, mines a Nokia 6230i and it's quite a revalation...... I can make a phone call and talk to someone:clap

Back to the subject, I've known a good friend of mine use Mem Map and he seemed really impressed with it. We went on a guided pay GL trip around Derbyshire and he was able to record the route and guess what next time around it was free:clap Good Old Cadmonkey for those who remember him.

Use MM and never had a problem with it,TZRS uses same version and a few on here and dont here many complaints.

My partner got one of these for Christmas and she thinks its great. She also has a Garmin Edge, but this is much simpler to use with the MM software.

I don't know if it would be any good for green laning, but all the trails you would find on a OS 1:50.000 are on it.

The phone versions (and Garmin packages) are all great if you just want to be guided or find where you are, but the laptop versions of MM and Fugawi let you save and retrieve routes, map height and loads of other sexy stuff you can't do with a PDA or phone.

Handhelds are also less effective at retaining satellite contact as they usually only have small antennae - with the laptop you usually have a dedicated external GPS unit that does a better job.
