Hi All
With some helpful ideas from members and some skillful fabrication/welding from a colleage my Maverick rear spring top mounts are now in place and a few other corroded areas patched ready for MoT.

In changing the front worn CV joint I note the disc backing plate is almost corroded through. As it does not support cylinders etc I believe this is not an MoT issue.
However does any one know where to get replacements. I can't find anyone who sells either the front or rear back plates for these vehicles. Yet such plates are easily available for many other vehicles on the market.

Feedback Welcome

Glad you got your spring supports sorted, and no very much doubt you will find any splash guards for your disks and as you say they are not part of the MOT, Rick

Get rid of the guards

I've been a fan of removing them since taking my first one off road and getting a stone lodged between it and the disc which caused and awful graunching sound for a while. By the time I pulled up to investigate it had done a number on my disc :(

I've never ran with them since

mine are worn out too ..... do they unbolt / remove without stripping all the wheel assembly apart ??

I can bet you'll probably be able to pull them off by hand!!! They will be flaky as hell and held on with x2 10mm bolts that I promise you will snap off.

Thanks BANSHEE

I was hoping I might weld something together .... I'll have a look ASAP but have a major starter motor issue at mo ...... see my other post today .....

thanks,
TOSKA
