Hi guys,

i was able to pick up some maverick side steps really cheap, the only problem is they didn't come with any brackets, i was hoping some kind soul on here would be able to help by showing me a photo of what the bracket looks like so that i could fabricate some and also where do they bolt onto on the vehicle itself? They look like the ones in the following link:

I would be in your debt for life!!!

Cheers

is ask them if thay got a pic of the fixing, so you can see it you think you can fit them yourself..

worth a try..

Pics havent come out clear enough to bother posting  :nenau

Its just to horse show shaped bolts ;)

Hum, bit of an omission - I'd go back and demand they supply them because there are three each side that bolt to the side of the chassis rails (side and top at the rear)....unless you're going to get them made up specially I've no idea where you'd get them, cos these are aftermarket jobbies - on the real McCoy the brackets are welded to the side steps so not available as a separate item....

If you bought what was in the picture it might be difficult to get a refund, unless they sell the brackets as well?

Just realised what you might have done - I'm assuming you have the Mazda Ford Maverick (the MkII) as opposed to the Nissan Ford Maverick (MkI), cos these are for the former I think......might explain the lack of mounting brackets as its probably a different setup on the Mazda....

Hard to tell tho cos this link references MkI while all else on the site seems to be MkII, including ALL the steps shown in the main menu....?

It was an dreaded ebay job!!!:augie Ha ha!!

It stated that they come without brackets, only paid £25 for them, other than the brackets they're in mind condition. Trust me for being cheap!!! i'll probably just cable tie them on and never let anyone stand on them! lol :lol

cheers for the replies

in reply to lacroupade, i've got the nissan/ford maverick, its a 1994(M), they came off a 1994 one aswell, the only problem was the brackets were rusting away so had to be angle grinded off!!! Bugger!!!
