Having a bit of trouble with my maverick. It start to miss/kangaroo if you put your foot down more than halfway. It mainly does it between 2-3000 rpm after that its fine?

Petrol /Diesel?

If diesel, 2.7 or 2.7tdi ie intercooler.
What year?

Put vehicle type in your signature.

Otherwise it's as much use as a chocolate fire guard...:lol:thumbs

1996 2.7tdi

The Tdi has a MAF, Mass Air Flow sensor, and this might need cleaning.
Plenty of threads on this.
Certainly the 97 Terrano is most likely to have a Mini filter, unless a previous owner has removed it.

Hope this helps.

out of interest is the mini filter in the same place as the older terrano's as giving the truck a good service and didnt think they had one :nenau

I've hade the same problem for several years.
I have changed the MAF, the camshaft sensor, diesel filter, No 1 injector. Disconnected the EGR valve. (Mine don't have mini filter)

Yesterday i went for fuel and remembered a old tricks i used on my old primera 2.0TD. (350 000km in the speedo) so i put some isopropanol and 2 stroke oil in the fuel tank and took it for a spin. After a few minutes the "jurking" stopped and the engine sounded much better.
(Isopropanol is for water in the fuel system and the 2 stroke oil is for lubricating the diesel pump)

Recommend to try this. Is a cheap and easy fix.
(1-2 bottle caps of isopropanol and 1/2 coffee cup of 2 stroke oil.

So does the isopropanol then bond with the water, and then allow the new compound to then go through with the fuel and get burnt in the normal way?

So I wonder if this is probably the main chemical used in all these so called treatments for boat diesel fuel.
Boat fuel tanks absorb more water mainly due to the damp environment and the fact that the fuel could have been stored for a few seasons.

Yes in a way. The Isopropanol splits the H2O into smaller particles some the engine manage to burn the with the fuel.

There are chemicals on the market that does the same thing, but it's much more expensive the a bottle of isopropanol. Some of them have additives that cleans the injectors and other solvents in the fuel system.
It's recommended to use this chemical from time to time.
Specially if you run on have "winter" diesel.
This diesel has a higher amount of kerosene, and this dries out the fuel pump over time. Therefore the use of 2stroke oil with the diesel is recommended for the fuelpump so the pump get enough lubrication.

Thanks. I have removed mini filter and still the same. Were would I find isopropanol?
