Just had my 96 2.7TDi swb Maverick valued at "We Buy Any Car .com"

£365:eek::eek::eek:

I know its basically scrap due to the floor being being rotten, so just did it for interest as I need to sell it.
MOT runs till next January and I'm hoping to get somewhere to break it down and sell the parts.
Breaking my heart because it's a real good looker & runner and everything works really good, I love driving it, pulls our caravan really well.
Might try Spares or Repair on 'the bay'

Are you really sure you can't repair it yourself or know someone that could repair it for you.

Can you post photo's on here of the work that needs doing???

rotten floor

hi think about - if your floor costs £500 to be repaired worst ways

what would you buy for that sort of money - an older junker at best and certainly not a 4x4

Even if you bought a welder and practised for a bit you have until January

hope you get it sorted

regards paulp

You can buy a good enough mig for body welding for 150 ish. A few evenings practicing and woosh FIRE  er I mean job done :thumbs
Pitty you're not closer we'd weld it up for you

I bought a Mig and tried welding the inner wings, trouble was everywhere I tried to join up the sections, the metal was so thin with worm, it just burn't through! THEN, I found the floor rotten under the pedals and when I tried to plate that, I discovered the rot went right under drivers foot well, all across the chassis section under drivers feet. Then I gave up!

I thought it was Makeitfit who was on the beach and offering to weld my car?

Surely if the rest of the car is so good then paying someone a few hundred quid has got to be worth it to keep it and as hinted how much would you have to pay for another car?

Is there nobody on here that could do it, drive it to their place and leave it with them for a week or so. Then go back and you've got your motor back nice and solid.

Unfortunately a few hundred quid is not easy when I've been medically retired for the last 15 years.
I have a number of health problems, which means I have not been able to earn a living, decent or otherwise.
As I said previously, I did buy a welder and had a go at repairing the car, but it's just too much for me!

Sorry no welding available on tin tenters :lol
All the sites round here are AWEFUL :augie The roads are just the pits , you'll have a bare chassis by the time you get over the boarder

Hey, hang on a minute, I was born in Brecon, then my immediate family moved to Ledbury in Herefordshire.
Since then I've been all over the World and now in my later years ended up in Upton upon Severn near Malvern.
There's still a bunch of my family living in Wales.
