Hi all
Ref my 97 Maverick SWB 2.7 TDI.
There is a switch bottom right hand side of rear door frame.
When working, whats it meant to do as no mention in the user manual.

I don't think they have a switch there frim production, so I would guess someone added it.

My guesses..

it could be to disconnect the alarm horn in the back there. Maybe they had an issue with the remote control.

Possibly to turn on the interia light(s). They turn off after 20mins or so automatically, so if used for camping people bypass it.

Does the car have a towbar? Maybe to disconnect the fog light, or even turn the perm 12v off, if wired to the old trailer wiring standard.

Just a couple of guesses...

That is the switch that turns the courtesy lights on and off, also does the "door open" warning on the dash, and also does the alarm.

Its a push to turn off, but often get dirty, plus over time, the movement can snap where the wire joins the terminal.

Spray the screw with wd40 fo a couple of days, then you will be able to undo it, and remove the switch. Often some contact cleaner will fix it, if not someone like Banshee may well have a spare.
