Hi Folks, just serviced the maverick and this is what's been done New oil and filter,New fuel Filter,New Air Filter, Blew fuel lines out cleaned Maf sensor and checked waste gate and is working fine and checked the intercooler seems to be all fine there. The problem seems to lack of power like no more than 10 mph on the road and up hill even worst? does the computer need to be reset or is there some thing else i need to look for.

hey up!

sounds very much like MAF to me. What year is the car? I know you say you have cleaned it, but, which type of MAF is it? If its a Bosch one you may have broke it (self cleaning/heating system), if its HItachi then just remove it and inspect, should be two tiny wires joined, and they should be shiny. Check your MiL light works, bottom left of the dash, it appears when IGN on. if thats all ok, next job is to check that fuel filter, could be air in there all sorts. Did the filter get primed BEFORE starting the car? check the priming jobby on top, should be solid, but it may be worth removing/refitting the filter....

I think you need to retrace your steps, assuming there were no problems before you did the service. This sounds like a fuel problem and I note you 'blew out' your fuel lines. Have you primed the fuel filter?

Again look at the post above and c if ur mini filter needs cleaning 1st then try the maf

Is there a mini filter on a Tdi ? I thought they were on post 98 models ? I may be wronge though

Cleaned the mesh on front of housing, took out sensor cleaned off soot on wire with small screw driver being careful not to damage then cleaned with tissue . i have done this procees many times with no problems in the past- it's has foxed me this time round, Or is the Maf dying

I don't think that is the prescribed method. You may have knackered it in doing so.

There is a test in the downloads section that works a treat.

I wouldnt have used a screw driver and tissue, it could now be damaged. What I would do, is soak it in electrical contact cleaner, then allow to dry. BUT, simply unplug the MAF, and go for a drive, is it the same?

Ok - Just put in a replacement Maf from a scrap T2 i have and Guess what !!!! it revs up to 4300 with blips or blemishes need to road test if i have any problems i wll get back . Thanks again to all your posts it all been very helpful. regards Mav4xr

I thought the maverick has a different one compared to the t2's. So make sure its the right maf.

Well mine is a tdi 2000 x reg and u guessed it it has the mini filter in side the banjo bolt:thumbs

yes the maf of the T2 is same part number as on maverick, took on road test this evening running nice with no problems the maf i took off has been causing a lumpy start in the mornings so i will see if the replacement is better tomorrow.

Any picture of a Banjo bolt on A 1996 Tdi or T2 Tdi or later with mini filter would be welcomed, would be nice to know exactly where which bolt he his ;-}

look in the downloads, there's a good section on how to remove and clean the little b*st*rd filter.
You can do it with a knuckle joint, a 17mm socket and a long extension, a magnetic pick up tool, and a very steady hand, but it's easier following the instructions in the download !!

what he said but from what i understand the old td had the filter under the bolt my 2.7tdi has it inside the bolt so u might take the bolt out and not look inside the bolt and think it hasnt got 1:doh

http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/downloads/workshop/wk10.pdf mine is a tdi couldnt find filter but blew out the banjo and this stopped misfire. Because I am lazy I took off the banjo joint without removing anything, a bit fiddly to put back though.

Was your maf the Hitachi one? they are easily cleaned but with care. regards bri
wow looking at the link glad i have the bosch 2.7 tdi as i dont need to remove anything to get to the inlet banjo bolt on my 2.7tdi just a 17mm socket a uj and long ext and rachet:thumbs:cool:
