Maverick 2.7TD Clutch Replacement Advice

Hi All.

My trusty 1997 SWB 2.7TD Maverick is showing some slipping on clutch under load. Think its original unit with 112k miles. I am lucky as have 4 post ramp available via colleague, but both of us are getting old so not looking forward to any heavy humping. Can't find any detail on how best to change the unit so advice welcome.

I have changed a box on a 2.7 and done many clutches, the clutches were all done by removing the engine and with two of us on it done easily in a day, you do need to drop the front diff but that was the only hard part, to take the box out you need to remove the torsion bars and x member and by heck is it a heavy and very unbalanced lump, engine out for me every time, Rick

If you have a transmission stand then 4 hours . Under car, take tension off the torsion bars. Undo crossmember and pull down with straps or rope. Undo box and gear lever. Pull backwards about 15cm. Remove clutch etc and reverse procedure. Don't forget to remove crank sensor ��
That's two of us doing it and have fine several.

Removed as little as possible . Two of us on it mind and both have done it before.
It's easier by a long way on a lifted truck too
