Gents,

This is my first post so be gentle. I have taken in a 2.4 as a project only to find that the cylinders ingest water and the old girl will not fire. On cranking with the plugs in the water system can be seen and heard to pressurize, with the plugs out water spits from the plug holes. The old chap who had the beast now tells me that he had a new radiator fitted after it overheated and the car has been stood since as his wife had no confidence in the thing (Why are women so often right). So top and bottom is :clapthe head is warped and the head gasket badly blown. Now guys can anyone recommend where to find a recon head or get it skimmed in the Manchester / Warrington area.

Great site well worth a Tenner paid for it's self in a week. Keep up the good work admins.

Good luck with your project Tony - don't know the Warrington area, but I do know that heads come up regularly on eBay so always worth checking!

Many Thanks

Thanks for the swift reply.

I shall strip it today as the sun is shinning here and make a call on the bores. I would of preffered a 2.7 but this was a gift at £250 the body and under side is in very good condition so the old girl will get a bit of TLC.
I will place the head in for a skim once I have Googled a number. I have downloaded the manual but it refers to the Oil Burner 2.7 is there one for the 2.4 do you know?

Regards
