Assume you mean 2.7 TD...?

Sounds potentially like the infamous MAF problem.....

Hi Adz,

I have just moved your post to a thread of its own, and attached lacroupade reply to it, should get a better response for you I hope, being a different engine set up to the thread it was on.

Adz in particular but jimmy92 too, check to see if you have a mini filter under the fuel union banjo bolt. Adz you almost certainly will have as all te early ones do, jimmy92 its not so plain as some do and some dont.

Anyway, remove the banjo bolt clean the filter and replace. On TD's particularly this is the most common fault and even on TDi's its probably second most common after MAF sensor.

Its certainly worth a look, and best f all its a free fix if it does work.

Or try the easy one first........ clean the mass air filter elements, just remove two screws and pull it out, clean the ( two elements) elements and put it back. good luck bri

I checked that but mine has no filter. I think its a sensor or even the pump that's failed as it was running spot on then out of the blue, smoke no power and warning light. gutted as i had full faith in the good old bus.

Being a 2.7td Adz, and not a 2.7tdi you wont have a MAF (mass air flow sensor)

It was the tiny little filter under the power steering pump.
