next trick

so Paul, how'd fancy this then.

altering front indicators to have 'dual filament' bulb holders.
then with side lights on will glow dim but flash bright with
indicator curcuit.

totally unnecessary but give you 'bumper level' marker lights
in same sort of style as disco series 2, guess could call it
north american spec.

guess must be legit as seen on coaches both to front and
side as marker/indicators. as local trams too atleast to sides.

following on this toyed with side marker lights on top of side
steps. to be rally clever then get brighter when door opens
to illuminate ground as you step out.

How about door mirror lights like on Navara's, they light up when the door is opeened I think. When I first saw this I thought it was a good idea but on reflection the light is shielded from where your about to put your feet

Hi JT  You could go a step further but it wouldn't be really off road friendly & that would be to fit a pair of 12-24" long white neon/led tubes under the side steps & connect them up to the door switches  They could be wired so they all come on when a door is opened or (4 tubes needed for a 4 door) when each door is opened

Have done the front indicator mod already  didn't use 'dual filament' bulb holders though went the same way as the rear ones, look good I think anyway.

Thought about using a set of those on each side when we get a good set of side steps, to come on when you unlock the doors or open them with the interior light.

Seen them in real life, they are more white then blue.

I have a load of THESE in Red and White and was thinking of drilling the bottom of the door for white ones and the end of the doors for red ones so they come on with the interior light, would light up the ground and red to the rear like on Audi's BM's etc

have to be careful with so meany lights

could get mixed up for a christmas tree!!!

I like the idea of the brake light modification, to include tails lamps. Definately one on the "to do" list. The early 300 Tdi Disco's only had bumper tail lights, then they were upgraded to additional tail lamps in the body side clusters.
