Hi,

I loaned my Maverick to my sister last night. At the end of the 1 1/2 hour drive there was a popping noise and the heater packed up. It was already suffering from the "only works on 4" problem. The temperature sensor was fixed a couple of weeks ago when it was MOT'd.

Sorry for the lack of details on the problem (the car is now 80 miles away and I'm having the problem described second hand......) but any advice as to where to look and which parts to replace?

I saw an earlier thread that gave the heater resistor replacement code as 1956726 but any recommendations for a source / rough guide to price would be much appreciated (I'd rather get the proper part than do the solder fix due to radio interference problems etc.).

Any help would much appreciated!

Cheers

Dave

have a look in the download section for heater repair.. :)

Thanks but I have a bigger problem than just the resistor, the heater blower has packed up completely. I'm looking for guidance as to what might need replacing/fixing.

As to the solder fix I'd rather try and track down a replacement resistor (heard the solder fix can cause radio interference and don't want to take any chances).

2 questions:

My heater has gone pop and stopped working. Any guidance as to likely parts needing replacing?

If I still need to fix the heater resistor after the complete failure is addressed, where and how much is the replacement?

Cheers

Dave

ah, sorry with it now.
sounds like motor. look under cabin filter in the downloads will get you part the way to where it is and im sure youll be able to see what else needs moving to get it out.

Ebay, ive seen the motors on but not seen one on there for a while. you could be luck and some one on here might be breaking one up.. always worth asking

Hi Mate, cncfabs has a few motors breaking for spares. Look in the items for sale & wanted section. He lives by junction 22 of the M5 ( Burnham-on-Sea).
With the heater only working on max, are you sure it's not the fuse blown ?
Matt.

Sorry ive sold all my 4 heater blowers just before christmas have still got some resistors if needed

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. My brother in law managed to fix the main problem (heater not working at all) by replacing the fuse.

cncfabs, I assume the resistor will fix the "only working on 4" problem? If so I'd like to buy one please. I'll pm you.

Cheers!

Dave
