malfunction light

hi all need some advice please would a dodgy battery make the mi light stay on when starting car turned ignition off and started again took 3 attempts before light went out ran perfect to work no lights on dash just on start up the car turns over very slow so do you think a new battery might cure the malfunction light problem look forward to your replies.

before you buy a battery, check your starter motor, i bought a new battery last year when i had that problem, was exactly same. just a slow starter motor , replaced that all was fine.

BS is right, could just be bad earth or dodgy starter.

The EML can be a temperamental little sod...on the wifes auto it comes on if you stall the car (which you still can on an auto if you're a woman LOL) and you have to remove the battery to make it go out.

If you do replace the battery make sure you go for something meaty - 95Ah and 800 or so CCA.....

thanks for your help no problems since i posted but will still replace the battery i can get one for 65 quid so its well worth while i dont know how old the battery is and with winter on us i will play safe.
