makeitfit... starts fast now run down of problems

ok today we fitted
new drive shaft
new front shock
new starter motor
new lead to starter motor

cleaned all electric connections
it starts nice now...

we took it to walters for a test drive and he showed me the problem he is suffering
ill try to describe it, how i found it , he wont agree cos he didnt then, but im sure he will have his 2 bobs worth later

its fast and has all the power it should have, its got welly if you gently the gas down. but if you give it loads of gas at 1-2000 revs it gets massive turbo lag. like its flooding or getting too much fuel and cant burn it quick enough

pete recons its, too little fuel. but when the turbo actually kicks in it puffs a big white cloud out the back.

so its good, but if you give it lots of gas. it gets big turbo lag (3-4 seconds) then big power it drives right or
when you drop down a gear to overtake its worse 4-5 seconds of lag then big power.... but drive it like you would in fuel saving mode its normal. with no other signs of problems


anyone got any ideas

i know it will have some its a diese,l but this is way too much

infact its like my old td4 gaylander. they recon'd it was the waste gate gone on that

is the vacuum pipe on the intake pipe that crosses the rocker cover in good condition?
when mine perished at the end and came off engine was gutless,
it goes to the injection pump, something to do with increasing fuel delivery , i think!

there is some oil stains on the rocker cover, back passenger side and around the oil catch tank. but everything looks intact

no lights showing , at all.
it seems right in every way just big turbo lag
no lights no other signs...

like i say if you drove it like miss daisey it wouldn't show.
but as he drives it like a petrol car its got big lag (not normal diesel performance its the worst diesel lag ive seen)

sounds like mass air flow i've the same promlem on mine but £480 for a new one

ok we looked again today, we found this in the intercooler hose

it appeared to close the air when the revs drop. so we took the hose off activating it . and it seems to have improved the turbo lag from 4-5 seconds to 1-2 seconds

i recon its cured he recons its still crap..... but its normal id say for a diesel
