maf sencer ,are there 2 types

hi there, ive been told the maf,s gone on my motor its 2001 2.7tdi mine is fitted with a bosch model . been told there are 2 different types hitachi + bosch id like to know if either of these fit also would maveric one fit or is it a specific part for this vehicle ..mines sluggish been unplugged runs no better:doh so just trying to find out info on these mafs ..also bosch ones on ebay £225 ouch :bow to near xmas for that expence

alot of mavericks have different mafs to the terranos.

There are 2 different types.

I have seen and bought a Bosch maf for my 2000 x reg. and paid only £41on ebay still working after a year:thumbs like this unit be make sure u match up part no.s ebay item no. 260890418754

Yours will be the bosch maff if you have the bosch pump(The bosch pump has a large round connector plug in the wiring to it and Hitachi will be rectangular plug).Try and clean the sensor first with brake cleaner or isopropynol.

yeah pretty sure mines round connecter on but didnt think u could clean the bosch ones, :doh sure ive read only the hitachi one you can but i could be wrong:lol ...ill check out that bosch ebay one cheers for the info nice one:thumbs

Yes you can clean them ...........bosch or hitachi.If you look inside the maff unit the sensor is sat inside,handy if you have an airline to blow it out once you have wetted it OR use an aerosol can of electrical contact cleaner to spray it.

Be warned though, I bought one of the cheaper maffs off ebay and it was no good.I never sent it back (Silly me)and still have it on my shelf.My Terrano was working fine anyway I just thought I would buy one as a spare and decided to fit it one day to trial it and the Terrano had no go in it at all once fitted(guttless it was)I would start and drive fine but had no power ..........put the original one back on and it flew again.
If you were local to me you could gladly trial my one then you would know for sure if it was the MAFF
