My maverick has been playing up a littlr lately and all suggested the MAF was the source, A local mechanic put a hand held scanner on the car earlier and the MAF was reading at anything from 1.20vdc upto 2.90vdc and was fluctuating whilst on tickover. Could this still be a possible problem?

even when the car was revved up slightly and all other readings are steady the Maf still doing its own thing.

Also why do they not have Cats or lambda's?

I think alot is down to the age of your T2 & it being an older style engine:augieAll the newer cars have then fitted but thay have modern style engines so I think the likes of the T2 in away is exempt (i'm only guessing here) BTH i'm glad I don't have a Cat as it's only something else to go wrong & can be very costly:rolleyes: IIRC Lamba sencers are only fitted if there is a Cat fitted
