For anyone that has an amp fitted, how many turns clockwise is yours set on?

Much earlier in the day I was setting it up and it ran nicely on 6 full turns, I tried 8 but 'twas too much power, down to 7 still no good, so back to 6.. I had it limp once so I wound it back to 5 3/4 but just done a motorway journey and it decided to loose its power

Just wanted to take some advise on how many clockwise turns they are running?

Perhaps my initial 4 was a more sensible option :nenau

Do not forget Alex that as we have recently discovered your Maf is different to the earlier versions, If you have fitted your new Maf then you should see what the output is without the amp on, then with it "on" adjust it till the output is say 0.2v up on the basic Maf and go from there, Rick

No multimeter, I did set it to zero and go from there, it seems that cold air (more dense) makes a difference too!

In the day it was ok up to 50/60mph but at night when temp dropped it was too dense and limped it..

I will have to do more tweaking but for now its off.

I had a similar problem, when I fitted mine. I can't remember how many turns in the end, but it is only a few. I kept turning it up half a turn each day, until it started playing up, then backed it off half a turn. about 2 weeks after, it went into limp mode again, so I backed it off another 1/4 a turn. Been fine since, and even though it is only wound up a few turns, you can feel the difference between when it is on or off.

Cool this is what I will have to do then, only embarrassing bit is when you slow to 30mph on the motorway :doh

To be honest, when mine did it, I got Suz to turn the amp off, then dipped the clutch and switched the engine off. Turned the key back on and lifted the clutch bump starting the car without losing too much speed.

sent from my phone, sorry for any typo's.

Aha thank you a million, I was unsure if I could this without causing damage.
