Bloody hell mot time is due in couple of weeks and my troll is playing silly buggers. I posted yesterday about the rear door hinge problem. Today thought i would have a general check over so as not to have to much of a shock at mot and o'dear think Nora needs some T.L.C Bless her. After 5 mins of inspection she has these issues:- Door hinge pin (lack of)
No rear bump stops
Wafer thin brake pads (front and back)
Faulty back lights
Front side light that works when it wants
She is also well over due a service, not had one since i bought her.
Will keep you guys posted about mot, untill then im keeping fingers crossed.:)

oh and she is sitting nearly an inch lower on n/s rear

bump stops do not come into MOT according to some recent posts on here, Rick:)

My terrano bump stops having been missing for years if it ever had them when I've owned it and never had a comment at MOT times over the years.

Only real headache I can think of is sitting down at one side.

Jim

Think i will sort out the brakes and lights and just put it in mot and see what happens

Sorted my brake lights out, it was the bulb holder. The earth wire that feeds into the back has corroded inside the socket so ive fed in a new wire and attached it to the body. Sorted:D

If the oil change is due, worth doing, as it can reduce some of the emissions.

Also if you only do short journeys, say up to 8 miles each time, them it's worth giving it a good thrashing..

Now and again I red line mine through the gears several times and go on a long run, ( MAKE sure the engine is warm first) say 30-40 miles, blow out the cobwebs and get rid of the moisture lurking in the engine. Then it does run better after the run, and has always easily passed the emissions test.

No need for excessive speed, just keep it in the lower gears for a little longer.

mines only got one bump stop tied on with plastic tie passed mot ,but doesnt lean to one side as a matter of fact the bump stop thats on there doesnt even touch when just sitting dont know wether i would imagone it does if fully loaded over BUMPS lol:thumbs,at least you havent got no welding issues check under the back seat carpet above the arches thats the surprise i got welding proper rotted it was and i could nt see from outside they were thorough its worth a check though then maybe you can do yourself before mot gets a sniff:thumbs

Hello:)

Just mot'd mine without any bump stops, not even an advisory.

Ive also just done a 2" lift so have all four original springs if 1 or all would help out with your slump issue? happy to let em go for a pint + postage! Ha.

Ah yes....now you mention it i had a similar issue with a defender, funnily enough Land rover had stopped producing standard springs so i had to purchase some after market uprated ones :) shame huh?
