Ive got blue smoke out on start up and its getting so sluggish when driving it! When pulling out of a junction there is no pull at all to get you over the road in time!!!

4x4xford,

The Fuel quantity adjuster position sensor is in the injection pump the wiring comes from the injection pump to the round connector above the pump and back to the ecu.

I would tip the fuel from the filter bowl in to a container; if water is present it will be noticeable as globules of liquid separate to the diesel and if there is a lot of water the diesel will float on it.

Rag1873,
If I were you I would be looking to change the MAF sensor, as this is the most common problem on the T2s with Bosch electrics for loss of power.
Do a search of the forums there are many previous threads on this.

This sounds like the MAF as Toolbox says. Engine feels gutless and take ages to get to 60mph.

Yes I will do that tomorrow and report back.

Just a side line for rag1873 even tho I have these problems with mine it still goes like a train, sometimes it feels like it has more power.....or Im just sticking my foot down to get through the hesitation but no loss of power??

Your going to have to drain and flush your fuel tank and hope no long-term damage has been done to the injection pump, water and injection pumps don’t mix, you wouldn’t believe the damage it can do.

Where did you fill up last? It should be there problem if they have supplied you with contaminated fuel.

Christ! How does one drain the tank??

I got the fuel from work, I shall tell them tomorrow.

If you look under the tank you will see a 14mm (i think) bolt thats where you drain the tank from.

looks like somat I should consider then

Be carefull that it doesnt snap in the tank. I would take the pick up out of the top and drop a pump in and you can get in there to wipe it out and check for any crap.
