Now dont remove ur waterpump without having some gasket to replace it otherwise you might end up having to improvise. Not stolen from pete and his diff at all.:lol

The cross member under the rad will need changing in the future so gave it a quick tidy up. Just till i get a chance to fab something up.

Changed belts, re fit everything, filled and bled the heating system. Then out for a nice long drive to see if I can find the leak. It was apparent straight away but i could see a couple of newly greasy bolts on the water pump so out with my handy inspection mirror

Squeezed my phone in there and im quite sure its the cps that is the source of the leak. It has one bolt on the right and the rest of the unit has been sealed in with a mastic of sorts as it has had the original modded.

Ive seen a post by rick were he turned up a piece of brass to make a nice washer. Now i dont have the tools or machinery to do that so will try an knock something up with my grinder when i can.

If you remove that bolt and take out the sensor you will see it has a groove and a rubber O ring, just replace the O ring or clean it up and refit with gasket mastic, Rick

Been away for a while, didnt realise how long id not been on the site for.

Mav has developed a clutch issue i think, hard to get in and out of gear when the trucks in motion. Needs a blip of throttle on change up and down, seems to not dissengage when slowing and dropping the clutch pedal.

Tried the stalling in 5th test. Will stall after popping the clutch when revs drop down. Cannot get it to slip under heavy acceleration. With luck it will be one of the hydraulic components.

My pedal has been creaky ever since ive had it so I have started there.. Heres a previous repair on the pedal.

Removed all off the jb weld stuff and got the grinder out.. Underneath i found this. No wonder it was creaking heavily.

Bit of some basic fabrication. I use the term loosely. Im left with a solid pedal bracket.

Got it on last night. Pedal action is now really smooth no creaking when depressed but it has not fixed the issue.

I probably did a really bad job of bleeding so got some hose today an will bleed throughly tonight. Need to catch up on all the posts ive missed.

Nice!!!!!!! Just had a read back through of some of your recent previous posts as well, I was horrified to see you use that Shreddies box as a gasket for the water pump

Is that still holding up? I remember when I did mine and had the same issue but luckily our local car spares shop was open and they sell gasket paper that I cut to size

Shreddies is still holding up but will renew the gasket with proper stuff the next time i drop all the coolant. Which may be sooner rather than later depending on my clutch.

Setting the pedal correctly for height, travel n play made a good difference thought. Heres some pics of how I adjusted just incase anybody needs to do theirs forbthe first time.

First I disconnected the push rod from the pedal. You can see the pin has slight wear on it so sonething to keep an in the future.

Measured from floor to pedal face. I had to wind the pedal stopper all the way out to meet the required distance in the manual. Easy enough as you just loosen the locking nut then turn out the bolt.

Next to set the push rod correctly i undid the two bolts holding the cylinder to the firewall.. Iwound them to the ends of their threads and pulled the cylinder forward to give clearance to spin the baacket on the push rod. Again just crack the locking nut and adjust bracket to meet the opening on the clutch pedal.

Clutch has improved but i have to more space to make adjustments. Unless put some spacers behind the master cylinder to allow further rod travel? Will probably try a new master next as they are cheap enough compared to the clutch :D
