It was at this point my regulator decided to spring a leak. Its one of the gauges and I had nothing on hand to replace or plug the gauge so that ended my weekends welding.

Only have the floor pan to take care of in the footwell. So new reg ordered and carry one when it arrives.

With no welding capabilities went back to tidying other things. Both chassis rails wire wheeled and painted

Also redid the arches in stone chip, greased the props and hopefully fully sealed that gromit that lets water into the footwell.

So just footwell when the regulator turns i hope as ive booked my mot for saturday morning so lets hope it all goes well and i actually get the work done and to the garage on time.

This turned up yesterday so I was able to get on with the last bits needed before saturdays mot.

Heres what I was left with after the rot is cut out. The area to the right of the footwell is just surface rust so will get a clean up after the other work.

The bottom part was dead. Being under the car with no protection had been eaten away. So drilled the spot welds out and seperated the 2.

Starting to move around weldinging into place. Any area from below that look scaby with rust have been checked for strength with a mallet and screwdriver. They will get a paint before mot.

Tacked the top panel back in place in one corner then moved about hammering it into position. Some parts had become quite thin after cutting and cleaning. So weld are a bit proud as i didnt want to blow through.

Tonight i will get all carpets, trim amd interior back in. Althought its quite nice driving it about with just the drivers seat and the rest stripped.

NICE WORK matey, better than mine, I start with good intentions and lots of enthusiasm but then I get angry with it and just want to finish :lol Saying that though I hung in there with the sills, however its been almost a full year and I haven't painted them yet :doh

That is amazing, how many people just stick a plate in there and not put the contoured metal back.
