Will see if my local scrap man has anything on offer. Failing that blocking the area off with soldering mats, hardwood boards and maybe a wet towel or two will hopefully help.

Looks like the previous repairs were very lucky as some of the loom in that area has melted wrap but the wires themselves are fine.

This weekend mainly consisted of more task to get the wagon mot ready.

Chopped out the old seat belt mount.

Trying to protect the glass and seats from my wayward angle grinding.

Chopping out down towards the body mount and back end of the sill. Previous attempted repairs crumbled uder the pressure

The rot kept appearing so I kept cutting.

While down here it was a good time to scrap all the loose bits off the body mount and check its condition. Was solid under the surface crust. So I gave it a nice lick of metal paint.

This but was horrible to weld. My welding helmet was too bit in the arch to aloow me to see the joints, im workin on a drive with a bit of slope so cant lift the car any higher. Had to line the torch up, move my face out of harms way the tack.
