Hi all...

My Mav has just failed the MOT on front pads and nearside handbrake not operating. I went to the local motor factors on the way home from the test station and found out that there are two DIFFERENT styles of pads for the Maverick, depending on whether I have Lucas callipers or Sumitomo ones.

Lucas ones - http://www.apec-braking.co.uk/search.php?generic=626543&item=PAD 806&cat=friction

Sumitomo ones - http://www.apec-braking.co.uk/search.php?cat=friction&item=629228

Short of taking one of my wheels off and removing the pads is there any other way of telling which I have?

Cheers,
Daniel.

Should be these,

But there is always a chance you may have an odd one. Take the wheel off and make sure before you buy, you can see without removing the pads, just look for the spring attached to the top of the pad.

I will whip one of the wheels off tomorrow, just to be doubly sure.
Need to get it sorted within 10 days or I will need to pay for a re-test :(

Now to find a cheap nearside rear handbrake cable
