Jacked up under rear diff, in 1st gear 2wd, not running, turned right rear wheel fwd, left rear turned the other way :/

Clutch Plates must be shot ?

Could it ? Does that affect it ? I'm not familar with ins and outs of LSD's

£15 for 3litres of Comma. Get it changed. But undo the filler first. David.

If I'm right I'm sorry but even with clutch pack packed up the rear wheels would still rotate in the same direction if both rear wheels r off the ground and not in gear.

ok changed it. took level plug out, diff warm (as went to get oil) dropped it and it stunk like hypoid gear oil. filled it back up with comma lsd LS80W901L till it came out of level plug.

took it for a spin, did some donuts and stuff lol (wanted to really work it) came back, put jack under right rear shocker, jacked right wheel off ground and it turned with very limited resistance by hand

One LSD is fooked :/

Can you get clutches for these ?

Spose you have to pull the half shafts to remove diff ?

Any pics or exploded view or workshop manual ?

Looked at above link could find nothing on diff

Oil first, quickest and cheapest

Done and still fooked.

Its the c200 version so I believe, with a backplate to access the diff. on difflock terranosaurus says the c200 is weaker than the earlier axle :nenau

Did some of these c200 axles come with an open diff ?

Due to the fact when you turn one rear wheel, the other one goes in the opposite direction, with no resistance whatsoever I think this is an open diff.

Must have picked up the only terrano in the country without LSD :/

or there is no clutch or as you say before worn out, as remember it's still a diff without limited slip action right now.

if i remember from many chats about this, if it has the wrong oil and you change it for lsd its not going to fix right away. and often its left to run with new oil for a week or so then re changed before lsd is full operational.

i remember paul used to change his lsd like every few months:augie

Indeed, but it's seriously niggling me. You just want everything working as it should lol. I have thought until now it had LSD as it has been tremendous in the mud so its still very capable :D

I will continue down this route of changing it, not holding my breath tho, and their was a good bit of swarf on the drain plug magnet ...
