Right MOT is booked for tomorrow as it runs out on the 22nd so wanted to give myself some breathing space for work to be done if any needs doing

But I know I'm going to get pulled up on the bushes on my lower arms so while I was at Milner I decided to buy some

How easy are they to replace and what should I be supporting whilst I'm doing it, just some hints and tips if there are any as I don't want this going tits up and me having to cancel the MOT :doh

I'm expecting my compression rod bushes tomorrow so it looks like they sold 2 sets this week :lol
I ordered 2 of the washers not for the purpose of using them as intended on the outer sides of the bushes but to replace the rotten ones on the leading edges of the rod carriers both sides. I'm hoping they'll be the right size but do accept they may be slightly small in daimeter. Some have previously found that rod carrier hole to be ovalled when the rod is removed. If this is the case i intend to build it up with welding and re-drill the hole.
That rod carrier that welds to the chassis rail does carry a part number so should be available to buy from Nissan contrary to what I've previously seen posted on the forum. I was browsing the Nissan Fast catalogue the other night.

Good luck mate, they were a bitch to replace!!!!!!!!

Make sure you've got;

19mm Ring Spanner
24mm Ring Spanner
22mm Long reach Socket
Plenty of WD40!!!!!

I'd recommend this job if you were doing the torsion bars at the same time as they are in the way

Thanks for the tip. I know I definitely have those tools in my home box as i'm unfortunately a mechanic for my sins :lol
I didn't look too closely before but did you need to remove the torsion bars to do the job?
The thing I was most concerned about was the possibility of seized metal tubes on the rods if the stock ones used the central tube like the poly ones?
Also, did you find the central holes in the carrier brackets on the chassis ovalled out on yours? If so/or not, what kind of mileage are you running? I'm currently at 103K

Cheers
