I expect absolutely no grilling for this thread as it is NOT flex :rolleyes:

I was solely testing my clearance.

All pics are taken on a steep bank. Clearance of front and rear bumper is good!

Looks good, although the number plates look like the first to take a hit in the event of contact....

Well since you invited it and my Friday night is a little slow... :augie :p

Proper term is really approach (front) and departure (rear) angles ;)

For example, my Trol has great approach angle due to the winch bumper but her departure angle isn't so good due to the overhang of the rear bumper :nenau Baby got back!

Clearance is usually when you're referring to the ground clearance ie. height of the lowest point from the ground. (Which is pretty good on your truck now you've put 32s on her).

With the nose pointing up the slope I thought I took a pic of the rear but I must have forgotten :doh

I'm very happy with her considering how she was when I got her. :thumb2
 
cant see how taking rear bumper off helps when tank is as low.

mind looks neater that how ryan cut his bumper .

tbh front looks too open, but well done for trying, nothing ventured

Has made quite a difference, as barrbeast said, its my poor technical terms, I'm talking about bumpers catching on approach and exit :thumb2
 
Looks good but I do agree with Thomas on the front end the rad looks far too exposed for my liking, get some drift wood while wading could easily catch the rad.

Check out the electrical problem thread, looks like the air filter has been sucking in rocks too. Fit the front bumper back on Alex

dont plates have to be vertical and free from reflection.

was it cosmic that had his on front of roof rack?

perhaps a vertical a bar could be its home alex.

Not a bad idea. I'll leave it where it is fior a while and see how I get on. If I bump it off I'll replace it :lol

Problem is, if you go to an area which you are unsure if you should be using the track, you might leave a very slight clue that you were there, should the plate come off.:D:doh:doh
Then if your vehicle is seen by plod on your way home, then you will be stopped and the rest of the vehicle inspected for all the other vehicle offences.:doh

A missing No. plate won't help their monthly crime figures, but taking a vehicle off the road as being unfit or dangerous will.

So if you keep the plate there, order one or two now.
Otherwise the vehicle is off the road while you wait for a new one.


There seems to be a lack of forward planning here, with a let's see what happens if, attitude. :nenau
You need to look at the consequences of your actions. A risk assessment.:nenau

It started with you crawling under the truck, whilst it was only supported on the jack, the consequences of this could have been fatal.
Then you wanted to use tirfor winch without looking at the dangers of it's use.
Then there is the risk to pedestrians and other road users with your skull crusher bar, then the exhaust fumes getting into the cab which could cause passengers in the car to be overcome by fumes or worse... :eek:
Then you decide to remove a perfectly good air filter and replace it with a bit of pond filter, against all advice from members, mind you, following your action, you got the consequences of this one.:doh
Are you waiting for the consequences of your other actions BEFORE you learn. :eek:

You started off with your signature of..

You knew at the very beginning that you lacked the necessary skills to do these jobs.
Alex, in my opinion... you still do.:doh

Have you not learnt that you are pushing your luck. You have had a few warnings.
Even the Terrano weeps for you.

I am getting tired of advising you to take care, others probably think I am harsh,
but Alex, you are a likeable guy, you have enthusiasm that I wished I could get back, but as the years go by, I realise that I have less time in front, than I have behind, and then I value my life and health that I have left.
You have to think of others, like your family, what risk do they face when they travel with you.

For example:
If your engine cuts out at 70 mph on the motorway, how will following vehicles avoid you as you come to a stop?

I probably over plan, like I use axle stands when working under a vehicle, but I also place the wheel under the chassis too.
When I use ladders, I foot the ladder, with weights, or tie it to the decking, but also tie off the ladder at the top.
When I work on "electrickery" I remove the fuse and put that in my pocket, and I then use two neon screw drivers to check for live wires before I disconnect anything, even then, I place my spare hand in my pocket, to avoid the risk of an electric shock across the body.

Others call this common sense.

WHY am I wasting my time writing all this, on a Sunday morning, when I have better things to do? :nenau

If people think I am going on, then tell me to stop, and I will.
As you can tell, I feel quite strongly on this.
